By installing or using the überlang browser extension and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
überlang is a browser extension that provides instant dictionary lookups for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text. The Service includes a free tier with daily usage limits and an optional paid subscription (Pro) with additional features.
3. Accounts
You may use the extension without an account. Creating an account via Google sign-in enables usage tracking and Pro features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
4. Free and Pro Plans
- Free tier: 250 lookups per day, limited saved words. Subject to change.
- Pro subscription: Unlimited lookups, unlimited saved words, cloud sync, and export features.
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@uberlang.com.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls
- Redistribute or resell the Service
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its code, design, and branding, is owned by überlang. Dictionary data is sourced from open-source projects (CC-CEDICT, JMdict, Kengdic) under their respective licenses. Your saved words and personal data remain yours.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Dictionary definitions are sourced from community-maintained databases and may contain errors. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any lookup results.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, überlang shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. Upon cancellation of a Pro subscription, you retain access until the end of the billing period.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
